Glossop Cartons is constantly investing in the latest printing and packaging technologies to improve the service we provide to our customers.
Our world leading Diamond V3000 in-line UV Mitsubishi press was commissioned in February 2009 and supplements our Mitsubishi D3000 4 colour which has UV interdecks, a coating unit, together with UV driers, IR and Hot Air Knives. Both machines are compatible and fully complement each other which has improved productivity and reduced down time as well as delivering a tangible increase in lithographic printing quality, printing the sharpest dot, at speed. It enables us to apply a range of coatings, from ‘luxury matt’ to ‘high gloss’ onto a wide range of substrates utilising the benefits of both interdeck and UV dryers.
A CIP4 link direct from the pre-press repro department, sending ink settings direct to the press, ensures quick make-ready offering the benefit of making smaller runs more cost effective. The diamond litho printing press achieves running speeds of up to 16000 sheets per hour.
In December 2010 we supplemented our existing carton gluing lines with a new, state of the art Bobst folder gluer giving greater flexibility of design styles and improved production speeds. We also installed a second CAD sample making cutting station to improve the service we can offer in carton constructional design.
Our enthusiasm for new advancements in print production has generated a lot of attention over the years and none more so than in 2013 when we became the first company in the world to commission the revolutionary Highcon Euclid™ digital cutting and creasing machine. It enables us to offer our customers even faster speeds to market, greater flexibility and cost-savings on shorter runs.
In 2014, we launched our pioneering Augmented Reality service and invested in the Lamina FA – a highly accurate sheet to sheet fully automatic laminating / mounting machine that allows us to quickly and easily laminate paper and cardboard-to-cardboard, both solid and corrugated.
We’re always looking to invest in new machinery for the benefit of our customers. Put us to the test and discover how our world-leading technology can help you.
